James has been practicing law since 2000, first at larger Portland firms and now on his own. Many of his clients have been with him since the beginning. He limits his clientele to people and causes he believes in; as a result, he’s gained some great friendships through his work.
He grew up in the Seattle area, and always liked visiting Oregon for its beaches and slightly drier weather. He met his wife on the Oregon coast, and clearly, he really liked her too.
James attended law school at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, because of its highly practical approach to law and its high satisfaction rating among students. He graduated near the top of his class, with honors.
Today, James and his wife are raising three energetic kids and doing a lot of biking, camping and fishing. They also volunteer with Reedville area baseball and softball teams, with the American Heritage Girls, and various charities throughout the Portland area. James picked up quite a running habit a few years ago, and has since completed a few half marathons and Hood to Coasts, as well as the Portland Marathon.
James and his family can be found running and biking together at events such as the Shamrock Run, the Hillsboro CAT Walk, Portland Short Track, Oregon BMX and the Cross Crusade.
